Comparative law notes
The adverb "thereinafter" has several equivalents in Portuguese. When used in the sense of "in a later part of that document, speech, or other text", "thereinafter" can be translated into Portuguese as "abaixo", "adiante" or "seguinte". The choice will depend on context and sentence structure. "Em seguida" corresponds to the second meaning of the adverb "thereinafter", i.e., "following a particular event or time".
