a lawsuit that never took place, but which is often used as an example of frivolous litigation. One of the most famous examples of fictigation is the well-known but untrue case of the woman who sued a manufacturer of microwave ovens after having accidentally cooked her dog while trying to dry it out after a walk in the rain.
