Definitions of acquired gender
the gender (=the fact of being either male or female) that a person living as a member of the opposite sex wishes to be identified by. For example, if a man is living as a woman then his acquired gender is female.
A transgender woman has failed to have her children's birth certificates changed to reflect her acquired gender.
