Definitions of joint resolution
a legislative decision that must be approved by both branches of a bicameral legislative assembly and which is then sent on to the head of state for his or her approval or disapproval. For example, US joint resolutions must be passed by both both the Senate and the House and before being presented to the President for his approval or disapproval.
