Comparative law notes

Hungary

In Hungary, since the introduction of the new Civil Code in 2014 the notion 'consumer' has been narrowed down significantly. A consumer means any natural person who is a party to a transaction outside of their profession or business activity. Implied warranty means that the obligor (the seller of the product, the service provider) is responsible for any defects in the product.
