Comparative law notes
The label is used for enforcement, traceability and control purposes and to pass on information to the user. In order to ensure that consumers use products as intended and safely, products should be accompanied by proper information. This information is usually found on the label. Where the matter involves providing the consumer with food information, a label means any tag, brand, mark, pictorial or other descriptive matter, whether written, printed, stenciled, marked, embossed or impressed on, or attached to, the packaging or container of food.
