Comparative law notes
According to the Hungarian Labour Code, an employee may terminate an employment relationship without notice if: 1. the employer engages in a conduct 2. that would render the employment relationship unsustainable. 3. if the employer or the employee intentionally or negligently and substantially violates the essential obligation arising out of the employment relationship with intent or gross negligence. Thus, under Hungarian law the term has a broader meaning as the employer can also terminate the relationship in the event of the inappropriate behaviour of the employee.
