Definitions of certificated bankrupt
(DATED) a term once used to describe someone who had been declared bankrupt, but was then given a certificate of misfortune by a court saying the person has been discharged from bankruptcy and was not at fault
The court will normally only grant an unconditional absolute discharge to a certificated bankrupt where the bankrupt is entitled to a certificate of misfortune.
