Definitions of the Law Society
a UK professional organization responsible for the training and professional standards of solicitors in England and Wales. NB a solicitor is a qualified lawyer in the UK and parts of the Commonwealth who works at a law firm and who generally deals with work such as drafting contracts and advising on company formation or preparing cases for hearings, but who cannot appear as an advocate in the higher courts.
The Law Society has called on police to look at whether the company has committed offences under the Solicitors Act.
