Definitions of specific legacy
a particular gift left in a will (=a document saying what should happen to a person's belongings when that person dies). An item left as specific legacy is clearly identifiable and is distinguished from other things of the same kind.
A specific legacy is revoked if the maker of the will no longer owned the property at the time of his or her death.
