Comparative law notes

Germany

In the US, there are certain mandatory subjects required by law and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) that must be addressed, including overtime, bonuses, grievance procedures, safety and work practices, and seniority, as well as procedures for discharge, layoff, recall, or discipline. Since the scope of these mandatory subjects and target group to whom these negotiations apply are different between Germany and the US/UK, the functional equivalence here is more partial than near.
