Comparative law notes
A "white-collar worker" is considered a person who performs professional, managerial, or administrative work. White-collar work may be performed in an office or other administrative setting. This English is not a legally recognized term and is typically used in informal contexts. Thus, if the German context is informal and text is drawing a distinction between manual workers (Arbeiter) and cerebral workers (Angestellter), then one could use the phrases "blue collar" and "white collar" as appropriate translations.
