Definitions of financial order
a court order telling a couple whose marriage or civil partnership has broken down how to divide their assets and income. A court may make a financial order if the couple is unable to agree between themselves how to divide their assets and income. The money may be in the form of a lump sum payment (=a single payment) or periodic payments, or both.
This form should only be completed in applications for a financial order or for financial relief after an overseas divorce.
