Comparative law notes

Under Chinese law, there is no such concept as "parol evidence" which prevents prior discussions or oral agreements from being admitted as evidence. In fact, ancillary evidence such as prior negotiations can be used to help contractual interpretation.

the rule that the terms of a written contract cannot be altered by evidence of any prior written or oral agreement

To avoid the parol evidence rule make sure that all the terms you want in the contract are actually stated in the contract.
