Definitions of privileged communications

secret correspondence or messages between people that are protected and which cannot be asked about in any way (eg it cannot be asked about during a trial). In the law of evidence, certain information is privileged and cannot be asked about in any way.

This illegal access to my client's privileged communications has infringed his right to a fair trial.
