Since in most common law countries, business travel expenses are not itemized in the same detail as in Germany, it makes sense to create a neologism here. Most dictionaries and translation support sites offer the generic "travel expenses" as a translation of Fahrtkosten, yet we recommend using that English phrase instead to translate the more general Reisekosten.
